July 2024 recap

Thank you to ALL the participants last Sunday for their attendance, and thank to Mother Nature for giving us a perfect window of weather to play in! I hope to see more former and "soon to be" Master's players who are included in this email at an upcoming tournament this year!
Thank you to Steve Devlin as always for not only supplying the setup equipment, but setting up Sunday! Very much appreciated!Only one more event coming up this year on the 25th of this month, let's see if we can get to 24+ guys! I have a feeling it is going to happen based on responses I saw for July. See other email for registration info.

Roll Shots: This will be a handful of my observations/memories of the day, and my attempt at some humor-

New players-  Thank you to Scott Hays and Dan Olson for joining the tradition of The Master's, glad to officially have you as part of the history!

Another 2 Records bite the dust - Mike Schmitt wins his 23rd, breaking his own record of # of wins and eldest winner, and this time he and his Partner, Zach beat up on a couple of "Vikings" for the win!

Most Traveled - I think Brian Bremer just gets this award permanently, I appreciate the dedication to the tradition!

Best solo setup - Again Thank You to Steve Devlin for handling this solo in July!

Best post tournament spot: Hoping more join us at Fernando's after the August Master's, as it seems the more often you go there they just automatically bring you your "usual" and you don't even have to ask! The food is pretty good too!

Best Defense & Ambassador - I witnessed Dave Pabellon "doing Dave Pabellon defense stuff" on many occasions, his effort motor runs hot! Not to be unmatched by his passion for spreading the word to others is noticed as well, a great Master's Ambassador for sure!

Most fun team - The Filarski/Koselleck team has to be one of the most smiling/laughing teams assembled in modern history, I hope to be like you guys if I ever grow up!

Best Comment at Fernando's- "What happened to you?!?" Markley can share that story at a future Master's with you if he wishes!

Best walk-up- Scott Hays brings back the tradition of walking up the morning of the event and was successful getting in, thanks to Dave Pabellon changing his plans for the second time that morning after we lost Erv to illness. @Scott - I owe you your $20 back because I forgot about my own cancellation policy, meaning Erv basically paid your entry fee.

More players needed:

If you know a player that would enjoy playing with, and they comply with my "no assholes allowed" policy, please invite them! They will appreciate being a part of this tradition.
