Roll Shots:

This will be a handful pf my observations/memories of the day, and my attempt at some humor-

  • New player-  Thank you to Jason Scott for joining the tradition of The Master's after many years of playing with "Masters", glad to officially have you as part of the history!

  • Most Traveled - Another shout out to Jason Scott for flying into town from Florida to join the event. Honorable mention to Master's veteran Brian Bremer for making the 7 hour drive from his new home in the Upper Peninsula Michigan!

  • Another Record Broken - Mike Schmitt defends his Master's Champion status and breaks his own record of most wins ever by taking his 21st victory! a record which I don't think will ever be broken, pretty amazing to witness!

  • Another 1st - Scott Behrendt joins the LONG list of those who notch their first Masters victory with the all-time winningest, Mike Schmitt. Yep, you pretty much want to draw Mike at a Master's Tournament!

  • Best Sportsman - This could be to everyone, but I've been known to throw my hat or visor over the years, however I witnessed Patrick Maxton treat his hat like a freshly laid egg and gently placed it in the sand!

  • Photographer- Thanks to Patrick Maxton who has often generously shared his photography talents (I still need to get them loaded to the website) and captured some great moments at the Master's!

  • Guest Photographer - Thanks to Dave Pabellon for stepping up to capture some Finals moments since the primary photographer is very frequently participating in the Finals as a player!

  • Crazy pool play - Clearly one pool was tougher than the other, one pool had all of the top 4 finishers, and the other pool had all of the bottom 4 finishers...weird!

  • Most sweaty walking up - Ron Filarski wins this award, he peddled all the way to NAB from the south side. Adding insult to injury, he actually owns a "e-bike" that he planned to ride up, but said bike was found to unexpectedly have a flat tire Sunday morning!

  • Best lines setup - Always Dave Grangaard, always very willing to do it, period. Thank You!

  • Best timely block - Nick Meier for blocking the last shot of game 1 in the finals for the 22-20 victory!

More players needed:

If you know a player that would enjoy playing with, and they comply with my "no assholes allowed" policy, please invite them! They will hopefully appreciate being a part of this tradition.
